SmartKable Powerline Solutions was created to commercialize breakthrough technology invented by Doug Hirsh, founder. Through Doug’s experience in artificial intelligence technology in the US Air Force as well as development and manufacturing experience for companies such as Carrier, he conceived of a novel, cost-effective approach to apply to challenges faced by electric distribution and transmission companies and renewable energy providers. The team observed that power grids are generally aging past their designed lifetime, power is often lost for unknown reasons and daunting challenges are ahead in adding distributed renewable energy sources. The company focus is to provide novel and practical solutions to these challenges, reducing cost, recouping and increasing revenue and improving power quality for the industry.
